On December 20, 1916, a meeting of the Southern Section of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) took place at Polytechnic High School. During the meeting, several appointments were authorized, including the appointment of Mr. L. Richer as the Manager of Water Polo and Swimming, and Seth F. VanPatten as the Manager for track. Other decisions were made, such as setting the closing date for baseball on May 19 and establishing a specific date to consider applications for reinstatement.
